this was one of the better red carpets i have seen in awhile. there was a feeling of old hollywood glamour that i think had been missing for a long time. everyone really stepped it up and looked very beautiful, even the men looked like there was more effort involved. some of my favorite things on the carpet were sleeves. i love dressed up sleeves, especially with padded shoulders. it is so different and being covered at the top is a surprising kind of sexy. along with the sleeves, were all the backless dresses. the combination of long sleeves and backless gave a very dramatic look when they walked away. i was happy to see all of the color, from jewel tones, like emerald green, to pinks, like sherbet to nude. this was a great kick off to awards season and i would love to see the trends from this red carpet carry on throughout the season and into spring.
#5
mila kunis in vera wang.
trends: emerald green, one shoulder
i love the texture of this dress. it is very much keeping with the black swan look. she is so beautiful and this bold color brings out her stunning features like her eyes.
#4
angelina jolie in atelier versace.
trends: long sleeves, emerald green, seventies sexy, sparkle
as we see time and time again, angelina always looks good, but this time she wore a bright, bold color and with sparkles, no less. the thing i love the most about this dress is the shape. it is timeless and very sexy. and, of course, brad looks great, too. i love the slick back hair.
claire danes in calvin klein collection.
trends: minimalist, pink, sherbet hue, backless
this dress is very simple, but the color is so beautiful. it was sexy and sophisticated. i am not usually the biggest fan of halters, but the cut on this is very nice and not reminiscent to middle school. i love the jewelry choice of a statement bracelet. her hair is a very relaxed up do, which is good to show off the neckline.
anne hathaway in armani prive.
trends: long sleeves, backless, sequins, padded shoulders
this body conscious, sexy, beautiful dress is just stunning on her. it makes her looks so long and shows off her great body. the shoulders give it a little volume and the back gives it a dramatic sexy look. she kept the hair simple, which i think was the perfect combination.
#1
emma stone in calvin klein collection.
trends: pink, sherbet hue, minimalist, backless
this look is tshirt dress perfection. i am so in love with this look and emma is a knockout as a blonde. this dress flatters her body so nicely. it has a long, sleek look. it is so simple, yet so sexy at the same time. i really love all the fitted, floor length dresses. you don't have to show off a lot of skin to look amazing. i am kind of at a loss for words over this dress and that's how i know it is my number one look from the golden globes.
