i am someone who likes to push the 'fashion limits'. to many this may be a pretty basic outfit and to many this may be extreme. for me, it is just a part of the progression. it started here with mixing the same print in the same colors. now i am using the same skirt, but with a top in a totally different print. still in the same colors. i like to take the same piece and see where i can go with it. this is just the next step.

my brown suede skirt..

this was one of those days when i stare at my closet (aka rolling racks) and my mind is blank. i usually get frustrated and make a mess. and i don't always come away with the best looking outfit. but on this particular day, i was not going to let my clothes win. i, like many others, spend lots of time looking through the internet. it is usually at the end of the day when i need to sort of turn my brain off. oddly, i don't find myself checking blogs for outfit ideas when i get ready. i KNOW that i take inspiration from so many people and places, but a lot of the time it is subconsciously. (or not.. look at my interest!)

but i'll get to the point.. b. jones style is one of my favorite fashion bloggers. she has a similar style to mine and shops at very similar places, i.e. goodwill and thrift stores, but she does it so so well. this morning, i only spent a few minutes getting mad at my wardrobe and went straight for my computer and found this, my inspirational outfit.
so, thank you, beth!

mia.

i have definitely been missing, but i have definitely been in action.
as many of us know, it is wedding season and i have already been in one. it was beautiful and fun. i will have photos to come, i promise. after that, i spent all of last week in boston for work. it was a super fun week and a great learning experience, but boy was i tired. i had planned to come home from work each night and blog, but instead i ate and went to bed.
this week seems to be a little easier. but still full of meetings and deadlines (exciting, big things are happening!). i have lots of plans in this head of mine and i hope to be sharing a lot more with everyone.
and in keeping with sharing.. don't forget about SWAPmaine! june 10th! so soon.. so start clearing out those closets.. and if you need a second opinion, i would love to give you one!! i can always make time for that!
and of course, thank you all for reading.

mint-y fresh.

warm weather calls for lightweight denim and pretty colors. floral prints have always been a favorite of mine and mixing them with mint colored jeans makes them look even better. light colors and light layers have always been one of my favorite parts of spring. just like the flowers are in bloom, so are we. we get to shed those dark colors and heavy layers for things much prettier and so much fun.

what do you look forward to in spring? favorite spring time outfit?

dots on dots on dots.

this is an easy way to mix prints. take the same print, in the same colors and put them together. but the more important thing, this is an easy way to have fun with clothes. and isn't that the point?
