NYFW SS11

one of the things i took away from fashion week is that spring is going to be fun! here are a few of my favorite pieces from the shows..

Marc Jacobs

at marc jacobs, there was a lot of my favorite things; jumpsuits, drop waists, high wasted wide leg pants, sheer fabrics, flowers, ruffles, berry colors mixed with browns. i could keep going. it was definitely a return to the 70s and it was done in such a beautiful, glamourous way.

Betsey Johnson

betsey is always super fun and over the top. this year was an ode to new york city with the taxi cab hats, bike lock chains, and of course the 'ride me' necklaces. i loved the bloomer shorts, ruffles, floral prints, and of course the nautical theme.

DKNY

scarves played a big role in this dkny show. they were used around the neck as well as for shirts. the scalloped, ruffled skirts are amazing! i love using similar tones in one outfit and of course, the floral prints are fun and flirty.

marc by marc is full of stripes, stripes, and more stripes. the colors reminded me of a few things i owned around the age of 5, which is a good thing. i am very excited that there were jumpsuits in just about every show. the full skirts from fall are still being seen, which is good because lady-like dressing should always be in style.
