when i first heard i was getting something sent to me from zara, i wondered what it possibly could be. i thought how could they send me clothes if they dont know my size, could it be jewelry or some other accessory. i wasn't sure. when i got the box, it was heavy, which made me even more curious. once i finally opened the box, i saw it was a stack of paper. i thought could they have possibly gone through all this trouble and packaging to just send me their lookbook! then i opened it.
i was amazed. this collection of unique photographs is so cool. each so beautiful and unexpected when you see a collection of the 50 states. for a company who does not do a lot of marketing, this is a great and creative idea. maine was the first card i pulled out. i could bet money that 98% of people who got this in the mail went straight for their home state first. everyone wants to feel connected to something and be a part of the bigger picture. i guess you could say it was a bit of nostalgia.
i guess if you don't already know, zara is launching a us e-commerce site this wednesday, september 7th! (mark your calendars!) since i am in maine, where there is no zara store to frequent and, unfortunately, i don't make it down to boston or nyc as much as i would like, it will be fun to have zara right at my fingertips.. literally. take a look for yourself.. i know i have my eye on the palazzo trousers in any, or all, colors!
and here is a little taste of america, zara style.
