Oscars: Top 5

this award show had a lot of very well dressed women. and a LOT of dress changes. picking my top five has been very hard, though i knew my number one choice the minute she came down the carpet and i was overwhelmed with excitement. the other four were very hard to narrow down. although, some people really fashion risks and there were beautiful dresses and beautiful people, i still think some could have stepped it up a little, considering it is the oscars!

natalie portman in rodarte.
she is accentuating her baby bump very nicely. the color is beautiful and works really well with her skin and hair. i am very glad she chose rodarte, paying homage to the designers that worked on the movie that won her this award.

gwyneth paltrow in calvin klein collection.
she looked like she was dripping in metal. it looked even more interesting when she was moving. it is a great shape for her amazing body. the simple, sexy straight hair made the look even bolder. she kept her jewelry simple, only wearing a very cool pair of earrings.

florence welch in valentino haute couture.
the color and style of this dress is so perfectly florence. i think she always looks great and is always true to herself. this look is beautiful and has a wonderful vintage feel, with the high neck and lace. the pale colors work great with her skin color and red hair.

mila kunis in elie saab couture.
this dress was youthful and sweet with the lavender color and the lace detail, but at the same time very sexy with the very low neckline and the sheer skirt. the light color made for a dramatic look with her dark hair and eyes. the look is so lovely and was my top choice until..

cate blanchett in givenchy haute couture.
this blew me away. you may have seen it one my blog before in my favorite looks from spring 2011 couture week, but seeing it in motion made me love it so much more. the way she wore it was just perfect. her hair was short and simple so it did not take anything away from the dress. i love the mix of structure at the top and the light, flowy movement of the pleating in the skirt of the dress. you can see the asian warrior inspiration, but with a pale, beautiful, it becomes very soft and feminine. i cant even explain how much i love this look. it is everything i would want to see on a red carpet.

camila alves in kaufman franco.
this is a look of a tank tucked into a big skirt that i love, a little like jil sander, but with a lot more volume and a little more sex and glamour.

jennifer lawrence in calvin klein collection.
two words: blonde bombshell. simple, but oh so sexy.

michelle williams in chanel haute couture.
this was hard not to put in my top five. she always looks naturally stunning, but this dress has a beautiful shape and is perfect for her. she did have a bit of trouble walking the red carpet.

mandy moore in monique lhuillier.
this is beautiful and very on trend for this carpet. the pale color mixed with the glitter made it not over the top. this dress gives mandy a great shape and accentuates the waist very nicely. she has grown up so well.

rhea durham in naeem khan.
this was just plain fun. the color was great. the top was cute and flirty, with the off the shoulder look. and what better accessory than a sexy man..

annette bening in naeem khan.
this woman is amazing. she always looks stunning. she just gives off a very cool, down to earth vibe no matter what she is wearing. and again, with a very good looking accessory.

scarlett johansson in dolce & gabbana.
i know there were mixed reviews on this one, but i liked it. the wine color was great for her and the lace detailing is beautiful. the high neckline with the open back was very sexy. not to mention her hair and makeup were beautiful. i'm kind of obsessed with the hair color.
