nothing makes an outfit more fabulous than a (faux) fur vest. it is also great to keep you warm. this skirt was a great find at goodwill for only $4. it is well worth it with the wear i get out of it. and who ever said you needed belt loops to wear a belt. the belt i chose is a lighter, brighter color of my skirt, which makes them play off each other just enough as to not be over the top. editing is always key.shirt jcrew, vest abercombie & fitch, skirt goodwill, belt h&m, neckalce f21, boots luckybrand.

when talking on the phone most of the day, it is hard to wear big earrings. this i found out quickly today. good thing they were clip ons and the transfer from ear to blazer was easy. i got a lot of compliments on my pin, so it seemed like a successful idea. i like the unstuctured look of a slouchy blouse and tapered trouser with a structured blazer. not to mention, this pink color is one of my favorite colors and i feel very pretty it in. not a bad way to boost your confidence during the day. shirt loft, balzer uniqlo, pants loft, shoes payless, earrings goodwill, bangles jcrew.

today was full of technical difficulties. our 8ft tree does not stay up in a $3.99 metal stand found at goodwill and my heel fell off my shoe at work. we solved both these problems, sort of. we went to every store open after 9pm to find a stand, but with no luck. (we do have a bigger one now) and i thought by ripping off my other heel, my shoes would then become flats. this lasted all of 10 minutes. if you don't know, when you buy 'cheap' shoes, the heels are held on by little spikes and even though you bend then so they wont go into the floor, they still go into the bottom of you heel. not comfortable. lucky for me, i tend to bring more than one pair of shoes with me. i ended my day in actual black flats. also, embarrassingly enough, this was not the first time this heel has come off. we tried to gorilla glue it, but for future reference, that does not work.

it was a chilly and rainy sunday made perfect for christmas shopping and running errands. bean boots, a sweater, and a beanie made it easy to stay warm and dry outside (with a leather jacket and scarf) and not get too hot when inside. ( i got great gifts at picnic! so exciting to have such great local designers!)

this was the night of my work christmas party. all anyone had talked about for the past few days was what they were going to wear, so i knew i had to wear something awesome. i had planned on wearing a different dress, but when i put it on, it was not how i am envisioned it. since i took a nap before the party and woke up around the time it was starting, i had to think fast. i am in love with this dress and i knew the only way i could wear it was if it was very different than the other two times i have worn it. i added a vintage red belt and paired it with purple booties. i love the idea of mixing these types of colors, especially when they are so bold with a dress that is shiny and pretty. i am very happy with my choice considering i won the award for the most fashionable person at work and i would never want to disappoint!

the saturdays that i have to work are the hardest days to get dressed for. because it is saturday, i want to be comfortable and be able to wear what ever i want. i don't want to 'have' to get dressed up, even though i like doing it. i try to not try hard to get dressed, then get stressed when i cant put together anything i like. this happens to me every week. i will eventually get over it and maybe pick out my outfits the night before, but until then, this is what i've come up with.

this silk dress is more of a summer dress, but i wanted to wear a little bit of color on a friday. i belted it to shorten it so it didn't look awkward over jeggings. i love the way this blue-purple color really pops when paired with black. it made everything look very bold. ( someone with his own pops of color wanted to be featured in this picture too!)

knit tights and a fair isle sweater says cozy to me. it is beginning to get so cold out and all i can think about it trying to stay warm. i love the mix of patterns, fabrics, and textures in this look. my sweater and statement necklace was inspired by serena's rehab look on the previous episode of gossip girl. i love adding unexpected pieces, though hers was a little bolder..

welcome to the boy's club. the night before i saw a picture in a magazine of ideas to wear to work and when i woke up in the morning all i thought about was the menswear inspired look. it was easy to get dressed. i knew i wanted to wear a sweater vest. i had to layer it over something girly, so thats where the ruffles came in. on top of everything, there needed to be something with a bit of structure and that was the blazer. i could have dressed it up more with a pair of heels, but i thought these shoes were a better fit, keeping with the colors and the boyish look.

you may notice that there are some times days missing. this is usually a sunday or a monday when i dont have to work. it is a usually a day where i dont leave the house and wear sweatpants or pajamas all day. this particular day was hot pink FIT sweatpants and a green american apparel tshirt. i figure no one is interested in seeing these, but please, let me know if you are and i will be happy to include them!

another winter wedding on this saturday. this time i was not a part of the wedding party, so the outfit was for me to choose. you have seen this dress before (as part of another wedding), but i switched the accessories and added a little evening jacket for a bit of a different look. i love the shape of this dress and love to get a lot of wear out of it.

slouchy, long layers are one of my favorite things this season. i like a long tight fitting skirt with something with a little more drape layered over it. it shows off enough curve to give you shape, but at the same time covers enough to feel comfortable, even on your so-called 'fat' days. adding a pattern or print with a solid color will had fun without making this outfit too busy.

this was one of my favorite outfits in a long time. unfortunately, i was not feeling well and kind of felt like it was a waste of an outfit.. i love mixing materials, as well as dressy and casual pieces. i love being able to dress up a simple tshirt with something sexy like a black leather blazer.

some days i find myself less comfortable in more preppy, common outfits than i would in something a little more edgy or different. today was one of those days. what i do like about it is the mix of patterns, as well as the bootie with a relaxed khaki.

wow. two of my favorite things to mix together. chunky knits with a girl touch. this look happens to be from prada. but we can all recreate it with things i'm sure we all have in our wardrobe. or perhaps, in your boyfriends, fathers, or grandfathers. check your craft box for some ribbon and tie a small bow or create your own pretty detail. to finish it off, throw this over a floral or flowy (or both) dress.

a dress and tights are the perfect thing to wear on thanksgiving. the both stretch and you cant tell when you get really full. i wore the belt to make sure i didn't over eat! haha not really, but it did actually help. i like the holidays because even if you are just hanging around all day, it is still nice to get dressed up. i kept this lingerie dress casual with the belted sweater and boots. hope everyone had a great holiday!dress rodarte for target, ls shirt jcrew, sweater jcrew, belt intermix, boots luckybrand.
