NYFW: Donna Karan

this is, by far, one of my favorite collections. the outerwear is amazing. i love the use of fur of the sleeves and collars. the color palette is all neutral with pastels like pink. it is very feminine and ver timeless. there were only a few pairs of pants, which were high waisted and draped. they a sleeker version of a harem, which is one of my favorite styles. everything was belted or taken in at the waist, giving a great shape for all women. the whole collection had a very glamourous, old hollywood feeling. bringing back the days when people were put together head to toe and really cared about how they looked. based on how i feel when i look at these outfits, i know if i could be styled like this everyday, i would have such great confidence in myself.

NYFW: Marc Jacobs

a little 70s, a little 40s, a little futuristic, and a whole lot of polka dots. and not just polka dots, everything down the runway was circular. i love marc jacobs and so far, he has done no wrong. this collection is different and beautiful. there are so many dots, but it is done in such a way that it is never overwhelming. it is classy and the grown up version. the jewel tones are the perfect way to do color for fall. from the clothes to the set, you can see the crazy detail he puts into everything. definitely one of my top shows.

NYFW: Jason Wu

this is one of my favorite shows so far. easily. it turns me on in so many ways. the clothes are so feminine and pretty, but you can easily see the menswear inspirations and the strong tailoring. lace was everywhere, but never anywhere obvious. long skirts with lots of great movements paired with some sequins and other embellishments, floor length glittering dresses, tulip shaped skirts, feathers!, belted dresses with sweet prints. these are just a few of my favorite things! this collection was great open to close.
