monday. 290.

shirt loft, tank h&m, jeans free people, shoes gap.

as each day passes, i can't help but yearn more for warm weather. it is almost april and i really want to be able to wear spring clothes. i am starting to layer lighter pieces and starting to disregard the temperature. today was no exception. my clothes were lighter in color and in fabric. white is always major for spring. it feels fresh and crisp after a dark, long winter. the loose vibe of the shirt is fitting with the huge 70s trend coming for spring and staying for fall. this is just a very small taste of how i am going to embrace this trend. another trend we are seeing is the slim boyfriend jean. it is relaxed, but a little more sexy than the boyfriend jeans of last year. and i couldn't resist a flat. it is still cold when walking outside, but the sun is shining, so it can't be too bad... right?

to mom, with love.

one of my favorite people to style is, of course, my mom. i love to help her make the most of the things she has and try to take chances when buying new things.

most of this outfit i bought for her for christmas.
i saw this skirt at goodwill and thought it would be a perfect choice for my mom. i like the striped pattern even more, i liked that the stripes form a v-shape, creating an elusion and bring the eye to a flattering place. after buying the skirt, it would not be fair to give this to someone without something to wear with it. i found this shirt at the gap. the gold would match with the cream in the skirt. the ruffle in the front was an added bonus, giving the outfit something fun and modern.

i knew there would be things in my mom's wardrobe already she could wear it with, whether it be a cardigan or a blazer. but when i saw her open this sweater (before i gave her my outfit), i could barely contain myself with the excitement that she had a complete new outfit.

last year, my sister and i bought her the boots for her birthday and that same year, i gave her the bracelet (both from jcrew). this year for christmas, my dad gave her this watch. with my help, i started this look for her. she was able to add the accessories (jewelry, boots, tights) herself and pull the whole look together.

saturday night line-up. 289.

saturday night was spent celebrating the birthday's of my sister and her boyfriend whose birthday's are next week one day apart from one another. they live in boston, so they came up to go out for the annual birthday dinner with the family. we had so much great food at caiolas and amazing desserts. we came back to our apartment to open presents and hang out before we went out for some celebratory drinks. it was a very fun evening, except maybe for my sister who did not feel good, did not share in the wonderful food, and had to go home early. but we had enough food and fun for her!

vest urban outfitters, chambray shirt free people, shirt jcrew, pants loft, shoes bloch (akari), bracelet gap.

this look to me is girly menswear. it is a layer of a vest and button-up shirt, worn with pleated trousers (rolled) and oxford style heels. each piece (besides the pant) has a very feminine detail. the vest is full of ruffled layers. the shirt is covered in lace. and the shoes are purple with an open toe. this outfit was fun. i got a lot of compliments on it today and someone told me i looked especially sweet and couldn't get over how great my outfit is. i do get a lot of comments on what i wear and some may not always be positive and sometimes people are a little confused. i wear what feels right to me and if i am getting noticed, i must be somewhat intriguing..

boho beauty. 287.

sweater f21, dress lucy love, boots vintage capezio, bracelet f21, necklace ferdinand.

yes it snowed today and yes, yet again, it was cold. but i am done with dressing for winter. i'm bringing in the boho, hippie look. the relaxed feel of these outfits reminds me of warm weather. i wore my cowboy boots which don't get a whole lot of action in the winter. i wore them to and from work, meaning i didn't wear bean boots or hunters (i still love them both). i still had to wear a winter jacket, but we are getting closer. i know spring has to come. i just don't know when.

shirt hollister, pants intermix, belt abercrombie & fitch, shoes barney's co-op, pin ferdinand,

it is spring, so i am trying to act like it is, even though it is cold. the off-the-shoulder, light colored sweater with bright shoes are a start for my spring looks. this outfit put me in a good mood. it made me feel good. every time i wear these pants i get so many compliments. i love the shape it gives me. you would think that with the pockets on the thighs it would do the opposite, but it makes the rest of the leg look small. this look feels sexy without trying to be. confidence does wonders.
