(#25)
i have had this skirt for a few years and today was the first time i wore it. i even had to take the tags off. i kept it with me thinking i might wear it and i am glad i did. with the military trend so big this summer, this skirt fits in with that without going overboard on one trend. i think the tank top make it both casual and dressy. the beading on the shoulders adds to the military trend it is own way, while the loose tuck keeps it more casual for day.
monday is my sunday (#24)
so today was not a good idea outfit wise. i left my apartment once to go to target and this is what i wore. when i came home, i wore a white t-shirt, gym shorts and sports bra and cleaned and organized my apartment (setting up my amazing ikea finds!). not very exciting, but still following the rules.
shirt h&m, shorts abercrombie & fitch, shoes havaianas.
a special someone (#24)
we stopped at my sister kim's house in boston after a great adventure at ikea. note: i was wearing the same shirt in a different color yesterday. as for my outfit, i love so many things about this romper, the little flowers, the buttons, the light airy fabric, but most of all i love the ruffles that surround the neckline and shoulders.
me: romper f21, shirt walmart, shoes urban outfitters, hat jcrew, bag coach.
kim: shirt jcrew, shorts , shoes rainbow, bag marc jacobs.

long skirt comeback. (#21)
long skirts and dresses are gaining more popularity for the summer and is definitely something seen on runways for fall. this one isn't to the floor like most but you need to find ones that are the right length for you size. i let my accessories do the talking today. with a black and gray outfit, pops of color give something plain an added flare.

jungle boogie. (#20)
first day of summer! (#18)
so today's outfit is not the most exciting. i spent the first day of summer out on the lake on the boat with my dad. the majority of the day was spent in a bathing suit, but i always like to cover it up with a cute sundress and my go to flip flops, havaianas.
bathing suit old navy, dress abercrombie, shoes havaianas.
happy fathers day. (#17)
hip to be square. (#16)
this was the hardest day so far. as i mentioned yesterday, i didn't have all my clothes and a planned trip home was cancelled due to last minute dinner plans.. i couldn't put together anything i liked and had a really hard time wearing a high waisted aa pencil skirt two days in a row. but it worked out and this outfit easily went from work to evening.

day fifteen. part two.
day fifteen! half way there.
today was a little harder. after moving into my new apartment and not having brought over all my clothes, my options were getting very slim. i love the modern take on this striped shirt, with the ruffled front and collar. ps i am not wearing my shoes because my feet hurt so bad after work i had my boyfriend come pick me up..
shirt jcrew, skirt american apparel, shoes burberry, necklace f21.
technical difficulties..
as in i deleted all the pictures off of my camera.. hopefully will be up to date by tomorrow.
14 going on 15.
dressing up a t-shirt is so easy and so comfortable. i love high waisted (which you may have picked up on by now) and by tucking in a tee and adding a statement necklace makes for a comfy, easy pulled together outfit. this skirt is meant to fit lower on your hips, so when i bought it i got it two sizes smaller so i could wear it higher and it would hit above the knee instead of below.

lucky number 13.
its funny how i am feeling a little like a housewife in this picture, but i couldn't be further from that. our "vintage" american standard sink and cabinets and the meat grinder might help a little. i really love pants with pleated fronts right now. these ones are just baggy enough to look cool but completely pulled together. and who couldn't feel great in a pair of platform heels.

sunday funday. (#10)
sandocks.
(#9)
today i kept it simple. i took a silk printed tunic and tucked it into a highwaisted skirt and threw on a pair of "low cut" sexy black flats. i love the look of a something flowy paired with something tight on the bottom.

saint-tropez kind of day. (#8)
i dont think there is any comparison between a warm june day in maine or one in saint-tropez, but i was inspired by the casual sexiness of their culture. unlike yesterday when i used a belt to show off the smallest part of my shape, i have the belt at one of my largest. the point of the belt todays is more an accessory and to give the this tee more shape.

singing in the rain.. (#7)
feeling very ladylike on this very gloomy day. i kept with a nautical theme with a pop of color with my shiny red flats. this dress looks just as cute without a belt but adding a belt adds personality to an outfit and at the same time accentuates the tiniest part of you. who doesn't love that.

marc-y marc
if you know anything about me, you know i love all things marc jacob and thats goes for this marc by marc jacobs resort line as well. every single piece is unique and creative, but at the same time very wearable. only in my dreams..
out chopping wood. (#6)
a little androgynous with feminine details. i am wearing a men's belt, wing tips, and a grandpa inspired cardigan. the wing tips have lace details and the cardigan has jeweled buttons which give the outfit a pretty feel. i am loving rompers for the summer. they are just as easy as dress, but give a completely different feel.
cardigan j.crew, romper f21, shoes f21, ring gift.
day five.
this is my take on the military trend. you cant take something too literally or it wont look right. so you want to take a small part of a trend and add our own spin on it. i added some feminine touches, but not too many. there is still something a little badass about this look.
pants marley from intermix, tank loft, vest abercrombie & fitch, shoes cynthia vincent for target, bracelet gap, ring vintage.
fanny pack.
i kept joking i wanted to bring back the fanny pack and i guess i should have tried. max azria is among a few i've seen lately with them. i am loving his resort collection. everything is simple sexy, perfect for your safari getaway.
day four (monday).
"resort should be like dessert"
while i'm waiting for the live oscar de la renta resort show, i've been looking at the collections already shown and i am loving jason wu's. the parisian feel, the girly short suits, and floor length dresses.. yum.
